Dr. Block earned her undergraduate and
medical degrees at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Her
post-graduate training includes a fellowship in medical oncology and
in leukemia/lymphoma bone marrow transplantation at Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute and a fellowship in hematology at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
She was a Kellogg Fellow in Epidemiology at the Harvard School of
Public Health. She is board certified in internal medicine, hematology
and medical oncology.
Dr. Block is Director of the Anti-coagulation Clinic at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and is the Director of Medical Oncology of the Auerbach Breast Center also located at Newton Wellesey Hospital. She is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. Her interests include breast cancer, other solid tumors, leukemias,
lymphoma and hematologic diseases.
Dr. Block lives in Wellesley with her
husband, Dr. Christopher Block, and their two daughters. She keeps
busy in her free time with running, biking and tennis.
