Our Oncology Nurse Practitioners have advanced education and national certification to practice in an expanded role.
They work in collaboration with our physicians to provide the following health care services:
- Diagnosis and management of oncology/hematology related conditions
- Physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Write prescriptions
- Management of symptoms related to chemotherapy and other cancer treatments

Julie Vanderklish, RN, MSN, ANP, WHNP, Erin Maki, F.N.P. – B.C., Beth Strand, A.N.P., O.C.N., Natalie Belostotsky, A.N.P.
Our nurse practitioners specialize in providing counseling, education, emotional support, and referrals to community resources. In addition, some of our nurse practioners and physician assistants have training in genetic counseling for certain cancer-susceptibility genes and can advise patients interested in possible testing for these genes.
Erin has been trained in genetic counseling for familial cancer syndromes. Appointments can be made with Erin for genetic counseling for breast/ovarian cancer susceptibility gene testing (BRCA1/2) and familial melanoma gene testing.
Beth Strand, A.N.P., O.C.N.
Beth Strand holds a Masters Degree in Oncology Nursing from Yale University and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Simmons College in Adult Primary Care. She is nationally certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) and as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). Beth has been a part of New England Hematology/Oncology since 2006.
Julie Vanderklish, RN, MSN, ANP, WHNP
Julie received her undergraduate degree at Northeastern University in Boston, Ma. She then attended Mass General Institute of Health Professions where she received her MSN in Nursing in 1999. She has worked for the past ten years as an NP at DFCI and MGH, working with patients undergoing stem cell transplantation. Julie joined New England Hematology Oncology Associates in January of 2010.
Erin Maki, F.N.P.-B.C. 
Erin received her undergraduate degree at Stonehill College in Easton, MA. She then attended Mass General Institute of Health Professions where she received her Masters of Science in Nursing. Prior to working as an NP, she worked as an oncology nurse at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
Erin has training in genetic counseling and is available to counsel patients interested in genetic testing for cancer syndromes, such as breast/ovarian and pancreatic/melanoma syndromes. Erin joined New England Hematology Oncology Associates in April 2008.
Natalie Belostotsky, APRN-BC, AOCNP 
Natalie holds a Masters Degree in Nursing from MGH/ IHP. She has come to work at NEHO from Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She has been practicing in the field of hematology/ oncology for the past 8 years and joined NEHO in 2009. She is certified as an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP).
